Bitget Wallet launches zero-fee USDC on-ramp across emerging markets

Bitget Wallet, the everyday finance app, has partnered with Alchemy Pay to launch a zero-fee USDC on-ramp, with the goal of increasing access to digital currencies in emerging economies.

According to a press release sent to Invezz, the new program enables customers to buy USDC with no transaction or network costs, competitive foreign exchange rates, and one-click checkout via Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The zero-fee initiative is part of Alchemy Pay’s stablecoin subsidy program, which is supported in partnership with Coinbase and can be accessed directly through Bitget Wallet’s Buy Crypto gateway.

The rollout covers Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Africa, and it accepts worldwide payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, and Visa.

The system also includes domestic payment rails and local bank transfers, with smaller transactions settling promptly.

This design is meant to provide a more seamless experience for consumers who rely on regular, daily crypto on-ramps.

Bridging crypto and everyday finance

The agreement emphasises stablecoins’ growing importance as tools for daily financial transactions.

Bitget Wallet underlines that allowing consumers to access USDC via conventional payment methods with no additional costs or complexity increases the utility of digital currencies in everyday life.

The wallet is expanding localised fiat-to-stablecoin paths to fulfil growing demand for digital dollars in high-adoption markets.

Beyond the zero-fee onboarding, Bitget Wallet provides over 80 payment methods for buying and selling cryptocurrency in over 100 markets.

Users can pay blockchain gas fees in stablecoins, spend USDC via card payments in over 50 markets, complete QR transactions, make bank transfers, and use in-app spending.

USDC assets can also be assigned to yield-generating options through integrated decentralised finance (DeFi) protocols, with potential annual returns of up to 10%.

Global accessibility and financial inclusion

The new USDC on-ramp reflects Bitget Wallet’s objective of integrating cryptocurrency into everyday finance, making digital dollars more accessible internationally.

The wallet aims to establish a more inclusive and efficient financial ecosystem by eliminating entrance barriers, particularly in locations with limited access to traditional banking and digital payment systems.

Alchemy Pay, which has been around since 2017, serves as a link between cryptocurrency and ordinary fiat payments.

It provides On- and Off-Ramp services, a Web3 Digital Bank, NFT Checkout, and a recently established Real-World Asset (RWA) platform.

The startup accepts fiat payments in 173 countries and allows platforms and decentralised apps (dApps) to effortlessly mix cryptocurrency and fiat.

Industry collaboration and support

The USDC zero-fee program is made possible by a collaboration with Coinbase, which provides infrastructure and assistance for easy crypto adoption.

Coinbase positions itself as a platform that promotes economic independence by allowing users to conveniently trade, stake, spend, and transfer cryptocurrency holdings.

Bitget Wallet and Alchemy Pay hope that by collaborating with established networks, stablecoins such as USDC may serve as both investment instruments and practical mediums for daily transactions.
