Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro this weekend grabbed a heckler by the arm and tried to snatch his phone.
The heckler, a YouTuber named Wilker Leao, called Bolsonaro a “coward” before the Brazilian president grabbed his arm.
Bolsonaro is often referred to as the ‘Brazilian Trump.’
Bolsonaro’s security intervened and pushed the heckler away.
The incident happened near the Alvorado Palace in Brasilia, the Mirror reported.
The UK Mirror reported:
Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro got in a scuffle as he attempted to grab a heckler’s phone after they called him a “coward”.
Bolsonaro was taking selfies near the Alvorado Palace, the official work residence of the Brazilian president in the capital of Brasilia, when he was confronted by YouTube man and former army corporal Wilker Leao.
Leao is known for challenging the supporters of Bolsonaro, considered by many to be a populist president, and began to ask him about an alliance of parties in congress of right-wing and centrist parties known as ‘Centrao’.
“I come here every day, Bolsonaro. Let’s see if you have the guts to get out and talk to me,” Leao said, according to video from Brazilian news station Globo
He then proceeded to call the 67-year-old retired military officer a “punk” and a “coward”.
In the footage, Bolsonaro is seen leaving his car and addressing Leao, where a brief scuffle ensues after the president reaches for the protester’s phone.
After his security detail briefly leads Leao away, Bolsonaro is heard saying: “You can talk to me all you want, you can talk all you want. There’s no problem. Why this aggressiveness?”
