San Antonio’s Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s launch of the new Migrant Resource Center for illegals has dubious beginnings involving millions of tax dollars and city resouces.
We wrote about San Antonio’s mayor Nirenberg before. He has Marxist roots and is using them in the process of destabilizing San Antonio.
Mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg, Is Following the Marxist Playbook to Transform Alamo City
Nirenberg’s new Migrant Resource Center looks very shady. The paper trail behind San Antonio Mayor Nirenberg’s new Migrant Resource Center that provides shelter for 700 illegal migrants reveal very suspect details.
The City sold the former City Public Service vacant customer service center on 7000 San Pedro Avenue for $5.25 million to KEM, Texas, LTD, controlled by Paul S. Covey and his son Kevin Covey. Based on Kevin Covey’s social media account, they are initially from Monterrey, Mexico.
The transaction occurred on November 22, 2021, financed with a $1,012,500 bank loan with Crocket National Bank and a rather unusual large cash payment of $4.25 million.
The City then turned around and leased back the facility from Covey’s KEM Texas, LTD on July 7, 2022. The lease terms are a base rent of $81,819.00 and an estimated additional rent for the common area of $31,063.00 per month (over $112,000 a month)!
The lease incorporates language that the city may start using the property on June 10, 2022. The lease’s initial term is for ten years ending June 9, 2027. (Let’s hope the illegal Migrant crisis doesn’t endure for ten years.)
Both Paul Covey and his son, Kevin Covey, support and donate to Mayor Nirenberg, collectively donating $9,000, according to campaign finance reports filed with the City.
The City Council rushed the authority to create the Migrant Resource Center by using the parliamentarian procedure called Consent Agenda. The Center was packaged with non-controversial items and passed with a single motion at its June 23, 2022, meeting. Due to the lack of publicity on the Migrant Center, there were no general public comments about the Migrant Center.
Mayor Nirenberg commented that it was “a compassionate response to the migrants passing through our area.” However, many interviewed economic migrants who hail from Cuba and Venezuela are without a financial sponsor. They may very well become wards of the city.
FEMA provided a six-month Federal grant for $10.8 million with an additional six-month extension. See the budget below.
To expedite the Center’s opening a Temporary Occupancy Certificate was issued July 8, 2022.
Below are some inhabitants from the Migrant Center and some of its mayhem. Most of the migrants are young military-age males.
The migrants are not restricted to the premises and are allowed to roam the city. The San Antonio police are not providing coverage for the surrounding businesses and communities to ensure the protection of its citizens.
UN Human Rights Violation
The United Nations defines human trafficking as “The crime of human trafficking consists of three core elements: the act, the means, the purpose.” Biden’s open border and transportation of undocumented economic migrants meet the UN’s definition of human trafficking.
