Joe Biden’s top health official has tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time in less than a month after contracting the virus during a trip to the G7 health summit in Germany.
U.S. Health Secretary Xavier Becerra experienced symptoms of the Covid-19 on Monday morning and tested positive for the disease after taking an antigen test, spokeswoman Sarah Lovenheim confirmed.
“He is fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and is experiencing mild symptoms,” Lovenheim said. “He will continue to perform his duties as HHS Secretary, working in isolation.”
“A statement from HHS said the secretary was not believed to be a close contact of Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, who also tested positive earlier this spring,” AP reported.
HHS spokeswoman Loveheim announced that Becerra is up to date with his vaccine against the Covid-19.
“Yes, Sec. Becerra is up to date on his vaccines to protect against COVID’s severity but not everyone in America is,” Lovenheim tweeted.

Becerra together with Trudeau attended the Summit for the Americas in Los Angeles with Joe Biden and other political leaders.

An epidemiologist & health economist claimed that the reinfection is due to Covid-19 variants. The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that breakthrough Covid-19 infections in April was worse in boosted Americans compared to the vaccinated but not boosted.
According to the data analyzed by far-left CBS, the week of April 23 showed that boosted Americans are catching COVID-19 at nearly double the rate of those who have not been boosted. But claimed the unvaccinated remain the highest group.
