CONSTRUCTION management software company Procore Technologies has entered into a software training partnership with the Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA).
California-based Procore said in a statement over the weekend that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the PCA to train up to 150 PCA members on the use of the Procore construction management software.
“The construction industry is slow in keeping up with the advancement of technology — not for the lack of technology solutions, but rather a skills gap in using the technology. Providing the necessary tools and training is critical in moving the entire industry forward into a more productive, efficient and safe environment to work in,” Procore Vice-President for Asia Bruce Wells said.
The PCA has chosen an initial group of nine individuals who will undergo training with a Procore product consultant. After the training, the nine will serve as trainers to lead technical workshops for the rest of the PCA membership.
“PCA members will receive complimentary access to the Procore account, and will undergo technical workshops on project management, quality and safety and more,” Procore said.
“Upon concluding the workshops, the members will complete online certification courses which validate their knowledge and expertise in using the Procore construction management platform,” it added.
According to PCA Executive Director Barry G. Paulino, “the Philippines’ construction industry is undergoing a rapid digital transformation push to address the challenge (of a skilled-worker shortage), by enhancing the productivity and upskilling our current workforce to ensure they stay relevant and competitive in the global arena,” Mr. Paulino said.
