Police Monday afternoon released images of a gunman connected to at least two of the robberies-turned-shootings at 4 different 7-Eleven stores in Southern California.
According to reports, two 7-Eleven clerks are dead after a gunman hit up multiple 7-Eleven stores in Orange County (Santa Ana, La Habra and Brea) and Riverside on Monday.
A customer at the Riverside location who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time was shot in the head and is currently in grave condition, Fox LA reported.
Monday, July 11, just happens to be “national 7/11 day” – a day that 7-Eleven stores give out free Slurpees.
Fox LA reported:
A string of armed robberies at several 7-Eleven locations throughout Southern California early Monday morning left at least two people dead – and police said preliminary evidence indicates at least two of the crimes are linked to each other.
Here’s what we know so far about the four separate shootings.
In Brea, a store clerk was fatally shot during an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on Lambert Road and N. Brea Boulevard around 4:18 a.m., police said. The male victim died at the scene.
According to authorities, they believe based on preliminary evidence that the suspect involved in this fatal shooting is linked to the incident at the La Habra 7-Eleven store.
A similar crime was reported around 3:23 a.m. at the 7-Eleven in the 300 block of 17th Street in Santa Ana, police said. A man was found dead in the parking lot, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Police said they believe the victim is connected to the robbery at this location. A suspect description was not immediately available.
Just before 2 a.m., an armed robbery was reported at a 7-Eleven on La Sierra Avenue in Riverside.
According to police, a customer was shot in the head inside the convenience store and remains in grave condition. There is no indication the customer did anything to intervene in the robbery but was still shot by the suspect, police said.
