Illinois – Police bodycam footage released this week shows a Naperville cop fatally shooting a hatchet-wielding man.
The shooting occurred on June 3rd, but police released the dramatic footage on Tuesday.
A Naperville police officer had exited his vehicle after pulling someone over when another car pulled up next to him.
A Middle Eastern man with a hatchet exited the sedan and lunged at the police officer.
The officer shot the attacker, identified as 28-year-old Edward Samaan, who was transported to a hospital where he died, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
The officer was not injured.
The DuPage County State’s Attorney is investigating the attack, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
