White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday said Joe Biden continues to encourage ‘peaceful protests’ outside of homes of conservative Supreme Court justices.
Protesters are trying to intimidate conservative justices in an effort to change the draft opinion on Roe v Wade.
It is a federal crime to go to a judge’s residence to influence decisions.
“[It’s] not a valid form of protest because it’s a violation of the law. There is time and place for protests, and the federal statute makes it clear if you go to the house of a judge, the residence of a judge to influence the judge in his decisions and demonstrate that that’s a federal crime,” former Attorney General Bill Barr told Jesse Watters.
“I know that there is an outrage … about protests that have been peaceful to date and we certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes,” Psaki said to Fox News reporter Alexandria Hoff.
Psaki then compared protesting in front of a judge’s home (a federal crime) to Republicans lawfully protesting in front of abortion clinics.
Alexandria Hoff shot back, “This is a pending court case, though. That’s where the federal law comes into place. This is a pending court case.”
Psaki once again deflected and said it’s the Republicans protesting in front of abortion clinics and parents protesting at school board meetings who are the real problem.
