White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday insisted the CDC’s updated mask guidance issued ahead of Biden’s SOTU address had nothing to do with the timing around the State of the Union address.
Sure.
The CDC updated its masking guidance Friday afternoon, just in time for Biden’s SOTU speech.
70% of Americans will be able to take their masks off indoors, including in schools.
The CDC has created new metrics to determine when people should mask up.
The agency moved away from ‘case counts’ and will concentrate on hospitalizations and hospital capacity in its new mask guidance.
Psaki did her best to convince Americans that the CDC completely acted independently when they decided to update its mask guidance on Friday.
