Comedian Bob Saget died from head trauma, his family said in a statement to ABC News last week.
“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep,” his family said in a statement obtained by ABC News. “No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
However, Saget’s autopsy reveals his head injury was very severe and he had multiple skull fractures.
Last month the 65-year-old comedian was found dead in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton by housekeeping.
Saget was found lying face up on the bed, cold to the touch with his arm on his chest.
Saget’s death was ruled an accident but health experts are demanding answers after the autopsy revealed there was severe head trauma and brain bleed.
Bob Saget’s autopsy:
“I think what it reveals more than anything else is this was not a simple bump on the head,” neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjay Gupta said on CNN.
“When you read this autopsy report that may still be the case, but it was a pretty significant blow to the head,” he added.
