A massive winter storm shut down interstate 95 in Virginia stranding drivers overnight.
According to a reporter for NBC, the interstate was littered with disabled vehicles on a 50-mile stretch after a pile-up of 6 tractor-trailers.
“People are running out of gas or abandoning vehicles,” he said.
There’s nothing to do but tweet at this point, so why not a thread.
The interstate is absolutely littered with disabled vehicles. Not just cars. Semis, everything. Nobody can move. People are running out of gas or abandoning vehicles. (2)

Democrat Senator and failed Vice Presidential hopeful Tim Kaine just happened to be one of those drivers stuck on I-95.
The Virginia Senator was stuck in his car for 21 hours.
I started my normal 2 hour drive to DC at 1pm yesterday. 19 hours later, I’m still not near the Capitol. My office is in touch with @VaDOT to see how we can help other Virginians in this situation. Please stay safe everyone. pic.twitter.com/Sz1b1hZJZ5
