Smash-and-grab thieves stole $1 million dollars were of Hermès handbags from Only Authentics boutique in Palm Beach earlier this month.
The luxury handbags were stolen when robbers broke the store’s front-facing windows and made off with the merchandise.
According to Palm Beach Daily News, 13 “Birkin” and “Kelly” handbags worth more than 6 figures each were stolen.
Thirteen one-of-a-kind Hermes handbags valued at a total of nearly $1 million were stolen from Only Authentics boutique on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach during a grab-and-smash incident.
Store owner Virgil Rogers said the handbags were stolen when the window where they were displayed was broken some time during the night of Dec. 14.
Several of the bags are worth more than six figures each, Virgil said, putting the total value of the missing items close to $1 million.
The store, at 325 Worth Ave. carries a 30-year curated collection of Hermes and Chanel handbags, jewelry and accessories, an employee said. Only Authentic bills itself as “the world’s most trusted independent dealer of Hermes and Chanel handbags and accessories,” according to its website.
