For the leftist “Mainstream” media, they are “far-right YouTube influencers and conspiracy theorists”, “the hipster and his ‘Barbie’ fiancée YouTuber who are the new face of the far-right” (Sun). Now Martin Sellner and Brittany Pettibone have a bouncing baby boy. An exclusive interview with Gateway Pundit.
Martin Sellner and Brittany Pettibone were introduced by YouTuber Lauren Southern on the Italian island of Sicily 2017, waiting for Martin to set sail on “Defend Europe”, a mission to expose the “migrant taxis” run by Soros-funded NGOs. Sellner is the co-chair of the Austrian “Generation Identity”, a youth movement that seeks to protect the cultural heritage of Europe and has been thoroughly smeared and deplatformed as far-right – despite disavowing violence and booting real neo-Nazis from their ranks.
In 2018 Sellner, Southern and Pettibone were denied entry into the United Kingdom, which even the far-left Guardian objected to.
In 2019, Sellner was framed for receiving a donation from Christchurch killer Brenton Tarrant before his mass shooting spree. Sellner’s apartment was searched by the Austrian police. In December 2019, the Austrian court in Graz ruled the raid was illegal, since there was no indication Sellner had done anything wrong. Still, the smear was used to deplatform “Generation Identity” and is still regularly trotted out to defame them.
In May 2019, Sellner was denied entry into the USA , where he wanted to marry Pettibone. They got married in Austria in August 2019 instead. Now, Brittany Sellner has given birth to Reinhard Theodor Sellner. They spoke to Gateway Pundit exclusively.
Congratulations! What’s it like being parents?
Brittany: Parenthood is the most fulfilling role I have ever had. While it has its struggles, its difficulties, it’s also the most meaningful and the happiest time of my life. Becoming a mother has given me an entirely new motivation when it comes to politics. I’m even more determined than before to stand up to the tyrannical system that’s been incrementally implemented all over the world over the past two years. I feel a tremendous responsibility to not only protect my son and to raise him well, but to give him some semblance of a normal life in this increasingly abnormal time.
You were prevented from traveling to the US to get married. Do you think you can ever go visit Brittany’s family, as a family?
Brittany: At the moment, the likelihood that Martin will be able to visit my family in the US with me isn’t high, firstly due to the fact that it’s now mandatory for all foreigners who enter the US to be Covid vaccinated.
The vaccine mandate aside, we’re actually not sure if the US would allow Martin to enter. He has been fully acquitted and all the investigations against him have been closed, but on the other hand, the US government has become extremely dedicated to keeping out people with political opinions they don’t like.
If the vaccine mandate for foreigners is ever withdrawn, we plan to try to visit the US as a family, and we’ll see at this time whether or not Martin is allowed to enter.
Generation Identity has been censored everywhere. Its symbol, the Greek letter lambda, has been outlawed in Austria. The leaders of Generation Identity were even sentenced to prison in France. Meanwhile, the issues Generation Identity focuses on have only grown worse. How do you see the future of Generation Identity?
Martin: It’s true, Generation Identity is facing massive persecution in Europe. Out of a sense of responsibility for our young activists, we can’t just carry on as before the bans. But our activism continues unabated. The massive de-platforming and a targeted campaign of slander hurt us, of course, but the movement is not going away anytime soon.
You are constantly having your personal bank accounts suspended, even in foreign countries and online. Theoretically, the European Union guarantees every citizen a right to own a bank account. How do you deal with these attacks?
Martin: I use what I call the Tarzan Tactic, that is, I swing from one bank account to the next. Every time one is closed, I try to open two new ones. I’ve been through 25 different bank accounts and payment services in the last years, in countries from Georgia to Malta and Finland. It can’t go on like this forever, but right now, I don’t have much choice.
Where do you see your son Reinhard Theodor in 50 years?
Martin & Brittany: We hope he can grow up in a healthy and sensible world. We believe these years we are living through will decide over what kind of world he will live in. While he’s too young to understand the battle raging around him, it will decide whether he will grow up in a dystopian, inhuman dictatorship, or in a free and healthy world. It’s up to all of us, and there’s no escaping that decision.
